The brief

Make complex medical research understood by everyone who needs to understand it.

The London Vaccine Institute at St George's University Hospital London needed a digital presence capable of communicating serious clinical research to a wide spectrum of audiences — from specialist collaborators to members of the public seeking information about vaccine trials. The challenge was accessibility without oversimplification.

The content strategy started with rewriting. Technical language was distilled into clear, authoritative prose without losing scientific accuracy. The site structure creates distinct pathways for different user types — researchers, clinicians, press and public — so everyone finds what they need without friction.

The visual design reflects the Institute's credibility: professional, clean and consistent. A responsive design ensures the site works across all devices, and a user-friendly CMS means the Institute's team can keep content current without technical support.

The results were rapid. Over 1,000 visits in the first month following August launch. When the Institute's COVID-19 vaccine study was featured in The Guardian and the UK Government website, the site was ready for the traffic — and it held.
