The brief

An iconic Brighton event deserves a digital presence that matches the occasion.

The Brighton Pier to Pier Swim is one of the most beloved open-water events on the UK swimming calendar. The organisers needed a website that could handle registration at scale, communicate everything a participant needed to know, and capture the spirit of the event in a way that would inspire new entrants year on year.

The website was built with a clear priority: make registration frictionless. The event information architecture covers everything — schedules, safety guidelines, FAQs, course maps — without creating cognitive overload. An integrated registration system handles the volume that comes with an event that sells out in a single day.

Photography documentation covered the full arc of race day — swimmers in action, Brighton's iconic seafront backdrop, the emotional moments at the finish line. Video was shot from multiple perspectives, with aerial and close-up footage edited into a cinematic highlights reel for promotion of subsequent events.

SEO was built throughout the site, targeting "Brighton swimming events" and "open-water swim Brighton" among other relevant terms. The result: the site ranks first on Google for its primary keywords, and the event sells out within one day of opening registration.
